The Magic of Christmas in Germany — My First Europe Trip

Hey Friends!

As fall settles in and the days get cooler, I find myself drifting back to the holiday season I spent in Germany. My very first trip to Europe was over Thanksgiving, and what I thought would be a quick visit turned into one of the most magical experiences of my life.

Exploring Germany

I stayed in a little village near Ramstein, drove the Autobahn for the first time, and discovered what makes German Christmas markets so unforgettable.

From the cobblestone paths and cozy bakeries near my Airbnb, to exploring Trier and Heidelberg’s festive squares filled with food, ornaments, and glowing lights — it felt like stepping into a holiday storybook.

The best part? I made it happen almost entirely with travel rewards from my Delta Amex and Capital One Venture cards. That trip showed me how much closer the dream of Christmas in Europe really is.

Read the full story on the blog here and see why Germany at Christmas left me longing to return ever since.
